GAMA Reports Across-the-Board Increases in General Aviation
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has recently shared some exciting news in their Second Quarter 2023 Shipment and Billing Report. The results are not only promising but are showcasing a positive trend across various segments of the aviation industry.
In the first half of 2023, deliveries have seen an impressive increase across all sectors, accompanied by an overall surge in shipment value. The momentum seems to be picking up, indicating a healthy industry growth.
Comparing Q2 to Q1 of 2023, we observe an 11.4 percent surge in piston aircraft sales, amounting to a total of 713 units. Turboprops have followed suit with a notable increase of 17.4 percent, accounting for 290 units. While business jets displayed a more conservative rise of 2.4 percent (296 units), the cumulative dollar value of deliveries saw a significant 1.4 percent hike, reaching a total of $9.2 billion.
Taking a closer look at the second half of 2022 (Q3 and Q4), GAMA’s report reveals some impressive numbers in the helicopter segment. Piston helicopters recorded a substantial 28.7 percent growth in deliveries, with 112 units taking to the skies. Turbine rotorcraft deliveries demonstrated an even more remarkable increase of 30.4 percent, reaching 339 units. The overall dollar value of helicopter deliveries soared to $1.9 billion, marking a remarkable 29.9 percent rise.
